Wonderfully written brother! And the two linked stories are definitely worth reading. I just finished reading the excellent new book by Tim Cooper "When Christians Disagree: Lessons from the Fractured Relationship of John Owen and Richard Baxter" (Crossways 2024). I wish those two heroes of mine could have followed the advice in your post.
The love of the gospel and legalism of Eastern Orthodox theology contradict. A true believer in Christ never consists of people seeking unity with others over the subjective idea of "beauty of liturgy" but with those who follow the real Jesus as He accurately describes Himself in His Word.
Thank you Scott. This was refreshing and comforting as we enter into this turbulent week. A much needed reminder of the true character of Christ and our calling to reflect Him. Unity and truth , patience and compassion, are certainly the characteristics we need to carry forward.
I absolutely loved this piece - especially the sections about "loving without compromising" and "building bridges." And thank you for the links to the articles - very, very helpful and timely in these very challenging times.
I’m saving this one, as well as the linked articles on the unlikeliest of friendships. Well done, Scott. Timely, for sure.

Good stuff, Scott. Thanks for the reminder about that Galatians verse.
