I’m old enough to look back and understand how often I’ve seen God
use what seemed tragic or heartbreaking for giving all involved hearts to encourage others. Troubles lived through with Christ can become huge blessings over time. A wonderful devotion today that I have shared with family and friends. Thank you!
Very encouraging article. So many quotable paragraphs!
This one in particular went straight to my heart " God works with bent instruments to bring truth, beauty, grace, mercy, justice, and hope to the world. It’s woven into the fabric of everything. The best therapists seek therapy. The best preachers of grace believe they need grace more than anyone. Those who forgive know they have been forgiven. "
For years, perhaps 30-35, I have struggled accepting the premise that God uses questionable charactered people to accomplish great things; Martin Luther being just one. I have wondered if the concept is actually true or the church’s marketing of the faith. Thank you for your insights as they certainly add plausibility to God’s wisdom and power.
In a time of great turmoil in my precious family, I can personally attest to the fact that God first sent a non- Christian, non believer to me and my family to provide for our needs. In coming to our home over a period of time, he and his wife saw things. Heard things. This man and his wife found Christ in the midst of my situation, not theirs. They have kept in touch some 30 years now, raised two wonderful girls and have a deep relationship with the Lord. Our family was blessed beyond measure at a time we needed help. Our church “friends” had lots of opinions and some were judgmental; the very few closest ones helped. God is everywhere. God’s plans are so amazing we stand in awe when we step back and look at what transpires. Watch. Listen. You will see it. You will be blessed.
