John Calvin expressed , “our hearts are like idle factories”. When I think of this (which I do believe to be true) and consider Scott’s writing here, there’s still so much work to be done ! We can never stop fighting and engaging in the mortification of sin, with emphasis on idols. And yet, even as I fight, I’m still so incredibly “covered” and saved that my idles themselves should tremble !
I was having so much idols too in my life until the Holy Spirit started opening my eyes to them. Since it was my nature (flesh) to have idols (things of the world), it was really hard to let go of them. Examples were games, movies, social media and some others. Thank God for deliverance 🙏
So refreshing to focus on the one thing that is important. The noise of this world is deafening, this was exactly what I needed this morning. Thank you!

This is so very powerful. And it's what I needed this morning. I will read again and again in days ahead. Thank you, Scott.
Thank you for sharing this perspective, Scott. Glad to have you back and writing again.
