Scott, I'm catching up on your articles. They are all great, but this set a new high for me. Your raw honesty is refreshing in the world of daily Christian living. I can't say how many times I have listened to U2's lyrics and cried and contemplated the particular verse you shared. I believe, yet I still run and yield to unbelief at times that keeps me running. Running toward the arms of Jesus in all my sin and shame. And as the lyrics state, Jesus carried the cross of my shame. Praise God, I believe that and thankful.
Scott, you never fail to pull me into the practical reality of living as a Christ-follower. I realize that, as a pastor, you have a plate that overflows on a daily basis. If, however, I might have the opportunity to break bread with you sometime (my treat) I would be honored to meet you and catch some of the anointing you have for clear thinking and godly wisdom. Bless you, sir, for sharing your thoughts.
Love this. Even as I struggle with being forgotten, even today, not just after I die, my only comfort is in the God who sees, remembers and keeps all our tears in his bottle. Even if I don’t feel it.
Your open heart to write and speak the real truths continues to inspire me. Thank you for listening to the call of God and accepting his path for your ministry. It speaks volumes weekly.
Scott, perhaps 100 years might erase the memory of your voice, but it has been a constant echo of Jesus’s voice in my life. Thank you for always pointing us to Him through your words.
