The sentiments of the Austrian businessman are common among elites. Their strivings toward “more” lead to dissatisfaction and emptiness. Their realization that “more” does not form anything close to a source of hope is universal in their more honest moments. Outside of the influence of Jesus Christ, the best one can achieve with wealth is a more comfortable state of misery.
