Well I thought midlife was more like 40-50. In this article Moses was in midlife when he was 80. And there is a verse saying Moses and later a verse on Caleb that they really weren’t old men but that they had the strength and vitality of say a 40-50 year old man.

I truly look forward to Sundays wondering what Scott is going to talk about this week !! This week’s message really hit home with me. While my mid life crisis happened 20 years ago, it is so encouraging and grounding to look at aging in this perspective and to realize the blessing of leaving “ independence beginning to live w interdependence” grateful for your shared wisdom!

Thank you friend, for your faithful heart. We are constantly needing to be reminded in Christ there is no beginning and no end. With every breath that we are able, we will sing, work, give, play, create, write, speak….out of the goodness of God. Forever. Blessings to you❤️

So well said, Heidi. Great to hear from you! We actually thought of you this morning in church when the worship band started playing "Shout to the Lord." Warm memories of our KC days!

Scott, thank you. I pray for your time with Sycamore to be encouraging, fruit-filled and full of Shalom. Like the biblical Caleb, I (we) have the inheritance already in Christ. Only the Lord knows I'll be strong as him at 85. =).

Scott, this really hits home with me. I am in the latter half rather than the mid-life, but am always wondering what God has for me tomorrow. I am on the board of a ministry here in Richmond called Second Half. It's a group of about 150 retired men (divided into 5 different groups around the city) who meet every 2 weeks in an attempt to discover what God has for us in this second half of our life. When we first started we were 5 men who read the Book "SecondHalf" by Bob Buford. It speaks exactly to where your group is. It's quite encouraging. Take a look on Amazon. To learn more of who we are and what we do, go to the website 'secondhalfmen.org'. I hope and pray that Sycamore will grow and flourish. Gilpin Brown (Richmond, VA)
